Make an impression with every surface

CVD typically works for owner-occupied or legacy properties. This property was unique in that was designed as a luxury holiday rental. It was essential that the site be immediately impressive and regonizable.

CVD started with an often-ignored surface – the driveway – to create a striking + memorable experience from the minute you drive onto the property.

Buffering

The stunning gulf views on this property come with exposure to striking winds, dramatic storms, and vegetation-destroying salt spray. CVD leveraged our deep knowledge of plants that work in harsh conditions, along with our network of growers, to specify a species mix that provided instant screening.

The selected species will also grow together for long-term screening and protection from the elements.

It's just beach

The site is designed thoughtfully as zones, with plants grouped according to their aesthetic effects and environmental needs.

Lush high-care plants are grouped around the entry and immediately around the outdoor living areas, for maximum tropical appeal. Heading shoreward, thick plantings of sea grape, gumbo limbo, and native ground covers create a protective windbreak.

Out past the wooded edge, we re-established dune vegetation to protect the shore.
